Rhino Lodge

Rhino Lodge is located in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and a few hundred meters from the crater rim. Rhino Lodge offers quality and affordable accommodation in a spectacular setting. Its location is very convenient, being the first lodge as one enters the Ngorongoro Conservation Area from Arusha.

The Rhino Lodge was originally the home of the first conservator in Ngorongoro. Additions were subsequently made to the home and Rhino Lodge was borne providing accommodation and was operated by the government. Eventually though, Rhino Lodge was closed and for many years became eaten away by flora and fauna of the Ngorongoro.

However, Rhino Lodge did not disappear completely and caught the attention of Coastal Travels who saw the beauty of its surroundings and its potential to the visitors of the conservation area. It was rebuilt and in September, 2007, Rhino Lodge once again welcomed guests to discover and enjoy the beautiful green forests of the Ngorongoro and the spectacular views of the mountains.
