Selous Big 5 Lodge

The Selous Game Reserve is Africa’s largest game protected sanctuary; and our new lodge is only 9km from the Mtemere Park Gate.

The newly constructed lodge has been built to offer a mixture of great game viewing and relaxation in authentic African surroundings. The lodge is built along the banks of the mighty Rufiji River, the lifeblood of the Selous. The lodge owner has brought his experience from South Africa, ensuring the hospitality and service at the lodge is second to none.

From the dining area, which is completely built with mahogany wood, you have a stunning view over the river, and while watching the crocodiles and hippos you can enjoy a drink from our well stocked bar or one of our many cocktails with ice cubes or locally grown fruit. Dinner is under the stars and is a mix of international and local cuisine; we can also cater to most dietary requirements.

Accommodation is in round huts, currently accommodating up to 10 guests, each room is a mix of modern technology with electricity, satellite TV and internet combined harmoniously with local materials. Activities on offer include game drives, boat safaris, nature walks, local village tours, traditional dancing events and much more! After your day searching for game in the Selous Game Reserve, we have a chill-out area, fireplace and tree lodge perfect for relaxing and discussing your adventures.

We have a guarantee that you will see the big 5 on our land ….but on African trees only. For the big 5 animals you need a bit of luck combined with the skill of our guides.

Our rates are $110 per person per night and we also provide backpacker accommodation for $20 per night.
